I didn't think it was.
House of India does have some wonderful Vegetarian dishes. The owner personally told me that he strives to make sure at least 75 - 80% of all of the dishes in the Lunch Buffet are Vegetarian. My experiences have confirmed that as well. Pescatarians eat fish. Vegetarians do not eat fish or meat, but usually eat eggs & dairy (Lacto-Ovo Vegetarians). Vegans eat none of those things.
$11.66 but soooooo worth it!
This place is great! I love the food here the most, but I definitely come for the atmosphere. it's so cozy and dark here. The cool artwork on the walls also adds to the experience. I'm not a huge fan of Indian food, because I can't have spicy things, but they can make a really nice mild curry, so I was excited to discover this place.
We are always happy with the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff. One of the most delicious and consistent restaurants in the Franklin / Coolsprings area.
I’ve been coming here since they opened a few years ago. I’ve tried Indian cuisine from every other restaurant in this county and I’m always disappointed... and I end up spending MORE money at the other places. This is the only place I’ll order from now. This is not like every other Indian restaurant. They’re very reasonably priced for how good the food is!! Also, the staff and manager are extremely courteous and kind, above and beyond what is expected . If you eat here it will ruin every other Indian restaurant for you. They’re the best.
The best Indian food in the area. Great food, excellent service and friendly staff. Delicious!Open for takeout durinh "social distancing". They even used a disinfecting wipe on my credit card after they charged my food.
Love this place. Miss their buffet. Go away COVID.
Food quality is phenomenal. Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in the area - hard to go wrong with *anything* on the menu.
We been today here the food is just delicious the attention is number one beautiful place for eat soo clean ❤️❤️❤️❤️And we will comeback soon .
If I could give ten stars I would. The owner is so nice every time we go and the food is too notch. The vegetable korma is buttery and creamy. My favorite thing on the menu. The vegetable pakora is also exceptional. This is our go to Indian restaurant in the area and we will continue to be customers for as long as we can. You want to go here and get treated like royalty and eat like a king (or queen)!
This place is absolutely amazing. The food was so good even my children loved it! The service was incredible! Sean was a spectacular host, so if you go in make sure to ask for him! They made sure we were well taken care of. Great authentic Indian food to satisfy every craving, completely worth the drive from over an hour away! Go check them out you won’t be disappointed!
Very delicious lunch buffet! I only ate the vegetable portions. The masala tea was very good also. Clean! Great service...naan brought to the table hot & fresh.
Love love!!!! Will visit time I’m in Tennessee
Pretty nice place. Dressing up is not necessary but the dinner atmosphere calls for it. Staff is friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food was very good.Went back a second time. My only complaint is the food was so good I nearly at myself to death! The lamb curry was a delight!
Great buffet, seasoned well, nice variety. Lunch for $12, & a relaxing, tasty, pleasant meal. Delicious hot tea. Fresh, hot naan served at your table. Full battery of delicious accoutrements. The entire restaurant smells wonderful, but not overpowering. Definitely a winner & a place to return.
By far the best Indian food in Williamson county. The quality of service is also unparalleled. Today I met the owner of the restaurant and he was very kind and genuine. I was treated like I was their #1 customer, yet it was my first time ever being there. I will definitely come back again and again. Thank you!
First time here! Staff was super friendly and helpful with us being Indian food newbies. Everything was delicious! We will be back.
This place was PHENOMENAL!! I was so very impressed with the outstanding customer service, which can be quite hard to find these days. Not to mention they were short-staffed tonight, but were running around and taking care of every customer flawlessly. Not only was the staff amazingly attentive, but the food was absolutely scrumptious! This was my first time ordering the dish I chose and it did not disappoint! I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant! Even the layout and decor was wonderful. I've never given a 5-star rating before, but the House of India absolutely deserves it! I wish I lived in the area so I could eat here whenever I wanted! Keep up the fantastic job, House of India!
Great Indian buffet! Have been coming for many years now. The service is exceptional!!! The owner is very personable and always gives a free mango drink to my daughter every week since coming. And brings back a small gift each time he visits India. Can’t beat this service!!!!
Very pleasant aroma when we walked in. Condiment s were spicy but good. My Mango chicken was delicious. Friend liked the Chicken Curry. We both ordered the Mango Lassi which is like drinking a yogurt mango drink but much better. Ordered the puff bread. Nice atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive.
The entire dining experience and the welcoming nature of the staff really took me back to India. The food was flavorful and not super salty which is a big plus. The portion size of the tandoori platter was good for two people and the korma sauce on the side was simply fabulous. The ambience is very cozy. They play songs from the yesteryears which inspired a lot of nostalgia.Only complain, the chutneys tasted a bit watered down and not very flavorful but overall a very good culinary experience.
They really have great food and the owners are so very friendly. Every time we have been here, service and food were excellent.
We ordered take out on July 10, 2020. The food was 100% excellent. Unfortunately, they are not wearing the masks required by Williamson County. Not indoors, nor when delivering to your car. Please follow the law. You are our favorite restaurant.
Simply amazing taste and great service. I am from St.Louis and visiting Nashville.. we made best choice to have dinner at House of India tonight..
I am not Indian but I love Indian cuisine and I have been to many many Indian restaurants in Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana and Pennsylvania... by far this place has the worst Indian food I have ever had! I ordered veggie biryani and chicken curry. The biryani was steamed and mushy, the chicken was tasteless, no authentic flavor and herbal taste to it at all! Not to mention their prices are higher than their competitors in the area.. To be fair the staff was nice and the place was clean but the food is terrible. If you eat Indian food often, I suggest you go somewhere else..
Updated 7/25/20: So helpful! We needed help recreating our family's very favorite delicious dishes from the Lunch Buffet (we arrived at Dinnertime). So I showed them my Googlemaps photo and they recreated it for us. Our favorite restaurant is still here for us (and yes do wear masks) and we are so happy!!!Updated 7/10/19: They updated the light fixtures but kept our favorite giant wristwatch on the wall :-) . We love this place sooo much! Updated 1/21/18: I & my family absolutely LOVE this place! This is definitely a favorite place! Excellent food! Great service!!!!Delicious! Yummy! Loved the Buffet and some Chai hot tea!!! :-)I came back again the next day, they added some different Buffet items which were truly scrumptious! Happy tummy! We felt so welcome here!
We were greeted with very friendly and attentive staff. Tables were set with table cloths and cloth napkins decoratively folded. There are beautiful chandeliers in various areas of the reaturant, and nice pieces of art. We were given complimentary bread and sauces. Our food (lamb and chicken) was absolutely delicious. We had several servers check on us asking if we needed anything. The gentleman at the bar spoke to us both as we arrived and as we were leaving. We gad a great experience here and really enjoyed the food. The only reason I took away one star, is the restaurant could have been cleaner. There was food on the wall at our booth and food on the salt/pepper shakers, and areas of the booth had food smears in various places, otherwise it was great.
As we're out of state visitors, we had an awesome meal at House of India. Their food had great flavor, excellent heat, & was graciously served! So glad we stopped! Highly recommend!!!
I cant say enough positive things about this place. The food is perfect every single time. The spice level is just as you order it. It's delicious and I talk about it for two days after i have it, every time. lol. Plus, it reheats well, and is wonderful for takeout too. The mango chicken at spice level 7 with a side of garlic naan is my hands down favorite. Now the staff- they are always totally on point. In restaurant wait staff are attentive, professional, and friendly. The owner, though, takes the cake. He always makes me feel like a VIP, whether I'm calling for takeout, or coming in to eat.Def spend some of your stimulus funds here. They are so worth it, and I cant wait til we can come in for table service again.
I love the food but the service....exceptional!
Great food! A group of us were visiting the area and happened upon House of India. We were very pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. My group of 7 was greeted at the door and seated at a kind of flimsy-feeling table in the corner. Our waiter seemed a little overwhelmed because there were so many of us... He only brought water for some of us, only took some of our drink orders, and didn't stay to hear all our appetizer orders. He brought most of our entrees at the same time except for one, which came a good 15 minutes later. At the end of the night, the manager gave us complementary kheer and was very knowledgeable and informative about the food. I would definitely go back!
House of India is our favorite Indian food in Middle TN. We drive down from Nashville to dine-in or carry out! In early August 2020 we ordered pick up because of COVID. When I arrived the food was waiting for me and the take-out portions were huge!
If you're in the mood for some very good Indian style food I would highly suggest this restaurant. The food is outstanding and the employees are all about the customer. We enjoy eating here as often as we can. The vegetables are always fresh and the seasoning is just right.
